For our 6 years, the Nevada Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (Nevada AAP) has led in-person Walk with a Doc events to encourage families to learn about pediatric health topics and then go for a walk with doctors in our community. Starting in April 2020, the Nevada AAP changed our monthly in-person Walk with a Doc events for the Las Vegas and Reno communities into one, state-wide virtual event the second Sunday of every month to reduce kid-to-kid spread of COVID and to keep the schools open for all Nevada children.
In addition we've added a quarterly Camine con un Doctor for Spanish-speaking families. Visit that webpage to learn more.

When you take a walk outside, wear sunscreen & take water. Socially distance at least 6 feet and everyone over 2 years old should wear a mask with people who don't live in your household.
For the July 2022 walk, we welcome Dr. Kirandeep Chahal who will give a brief, family-friendly talk on A Pediatrician's Training and then take your questions live. Printable flyer below.

There are 100 reasons to walk!
Walk with a Doc (WWAD) was started in Columbus, Ohio in April of 2005 by Dr. David Sabgir and has now expanded throughout the world. With an aim to make hope and health accessible to all, WWAD doctor-led walking groups are a safe, fun, and FREE place to get some steps, learn about health, and meet new friends.
Starting in April 2020 and until further notice, our monthly Walk with a Doc events will be held virtually (you can also view the past videos above).
For the Las Vegas/Henderson community, the Nevada AAP leads free, kid-friendly Walk with a Doc events the second Sunday of every month. We meet October - May at Springs Preserve in Las Vegas, but we move June - September to Mount Charleston to avoid the heat in the Las Vegas Valley.
