PHYSICIANS

  1. Mentoring
The Nevada Chapter encourages Members to sign up for the AAP Mentorship Program. Mentorship is one of the most important tools for professional development and has been linked to greater productivity, career advancement, and professional satisfaction.
  2. Membership
Membership in our chapter offers numerous opportunities for education, leadership, and involvement in state and local advocacy. Our chapter is the primary professional home for pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists in Nevada.
  3. Updates and Events
About twice a month, we email updates and an events calendar to chapter members. Non-members who also want to receive these updates click below to join our email list.
  4. Walk with a Doc
Each month, in Reno and in Las Vegas, our chapter leads a free, kid-friendly, Walk with a Doc event where area doctors meet patients, their parents, and their grandparents at a public park to encourage exercise through example. We hope you'll join us and help us let families know about our events.
  5. Minor Consent
It is important that physicians know at what age, and in which circumstances, adolescents have privacy and consent rights. Our chapter is fortunate that our colleagues at Nevada Primary Care Association have shared with us their Minor Consent Guide (click below to download the file). Chapter members who wish to obtain a free printed copy of this guide should contact Dawn Gentsch at dgentsch@nvpca.org.
  6. Prescribe 365
The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH) has established a website called Prescribe 365 to hep physicians and patients to better understand current prescribing rules for pain medications including online training for prescribers.
